Never look into a UV bulb when it's lit. I wasn't sure if I could get my eyes burned looking through the camera, but I know you're okay looking at this image. This is a UV bulb doing it's job. Normally, there'd be water swirling around it. |

Once it's all plumbed up, how do you know for sure if it's on? They thought of this, and each UV comes with a sight glass which glows teal when the unit's on. |

This unit is cool because it's not just OKAY for use outside in the weather, it's approved for it. The top is an easily removeable high impact weather resistant polymer. Underneath, the goodies. |

Better still is the porting. You can go into the unit in any of three angles at the top with your water, and come out any of the different angles at the bottom. No other UV offers this ability. There are plugs for the unused ports. With the UVP40, sometimes you need two inlets and outlets to present enough water to do it's job. |

With the rain top lid off, you can see how complicated the unit is; NOT. All you have is an easy access circuit breaker, a ballast which can be replaced as needed and a lock nut which holds the bulb and sleeve in. All accessible with the turn of four screws. |

Here's the bulb interface. Remove the black adhesive strip, pop off the four prong connector, unscrew the rubberized lock nut and lift out the bulb. Replace the bulb or sleeve, tighten the nut, reattach the 4 prong connector and you're ready to go. The adhesive strip is extra care for shipping. |

Lay the unit over and look under the rain top. There's GFCI with a tester. You can't get zapped by this bad boy. |
