The differences between fittings.

These aren't normal fittings. They are the fittings custom made for use in the Aquadyne. Bulkhead fittings take the most strain. Many a lesser bead filter has been destroyed due to the failure of a welded bulkhead that broke. Notice in the above case, and ask yourself: How is it that there's a grey thread in that otherwise normal looking male adapter? Because it's a super strong, custom manufactured piece. Aquadyne wants and expects the strength of a schedule PVC much stronger than Schedule 80. So they make their own fittings creating an iron hybrid of the best of both worlds.

The fittings are machined on another level: The male fitting is bevelled to fit the concavity of the filter body - ensuring a better fit! The female part is also bevelled to accomodate the convexity of the filter body. A snug fit indeed! Expect the best.
